Being 54, I feel that it gives me the right to be a little grumpy and cantankerous at times. Working in the auto repair biz for over 30 years takes it's toll on a person. Last month I had some business to do in San Antonio and decided to make a work/pleasure thing. I was delivering a truck I had sold and thought....Why not load the Harley in the back, drop off the truck, visit my Kids whom both live in that area, and ride back. Bad idea!!! 105 and up temps the whole way back! Too hot for this old biker. Hell I hadn't taken a week off since 2003 when I went to Alaska on a fishing trip, but it sure was great to get away and see my kids and not be at work. I mentioned this idea befote I left to a couple lady's whom I had serviced their cars for over 20 years and they told me that I best be back quick cause they can't be without their â??Mechanic Rogerâ?? for too long. Then they went on to tell me that I can't retire until they DIE! They really didn't even want me to take off for a vacation!

So to be honest, I may be moody and angry at times but at heart I'm nothing but a big old Harley ridin Papa Bear, my ex will even give refrences for me...........just looking around here for a friend at least, someone with with soft warm skin to touch, someone to give a hug at times, secure in their self and in life, a grown up:) someone to hang with, go for a long ride in the middle of the night, sit on a beach, sit on the porch on Sunday and pat their belly after one of my famous barbeque lunches, watch TV, watch the grass grow, talk, walk, listen to music, easy stuff. hello!! i am a very honest person and i am just looking for someone to love me for who i am.

Well, truth be told, I am new to the whole dating scene. Just looking for a tough, masculine kind of guy (like myself). If you are looking for labels, stop right there; I'm not your stereotypical, run-of-the-mill gay guy. I do not consider myself completely "out" either, because there are still plenty of people in my straight life that I am not ready to give up on yet. My personality is that of a straight guy, but I assure you, as the saying goes, it is not wise to judge a book by its cover.
Although I may not display any outward signs that I am gay, I can be warm, compassionate, courteous and protective when the need arises. Also, I might as well say that gay bars and feminine men really aren't my thing, so I apologize dudes, but you're going to have to look elsewhere. What I really want is someone who can not only become my partner, but a friend as well. I want someone to be "rough" with, not a delicate flower. Someone who I can compete with, maybe even spar with; a rival, in other words.
I like the idea of having someone in which we can mutually understand and encourage each other to do the best we can. I'd like to be with that guy who I could really lean my weight on; someone dependable and willing to lean on me back. I am a low-maintenance kind of guy and I can take care of myself, but it doesn't hurt to have someone around for companionship. My ideal partner has to be someone who won't shy away from physical activities, but will rise to the challenge when it comes to intellectual ability as well. Stimulating conversation is just as important, maybe even more, in my opinion.
Now, I do not really care about the "perfect" body; as long as you like going out and playing sports, I don't really mind. I enjoy working out at least two or three times a week, and martial arts is one of my main hobbies. My other hobbies include video games and reading, although these are not exclusive; I'm open up to cultural and educational endeavors as well.
I'm a mellow kind of guy, and I hope to find another person like that someday; someone who can challenge me both physically and mentally, and perhaps someday we can both take on the world together.

I'll keep it simple. I am a very active person and I try to be outdoors as much as I can. I excercise often and I do a lot of camping, hiking, dirtbike riding, snowboarding and surfing just to name a few. I consider myself to be a very intelligent human being who tries to behave decently and morally without expecting any sort of reward or punishment for what I do in life and more especially after death (afterlife). Naturally this is a direct contradiction as to how I was raised. I was raised as a Catholic by a God fearing woman (who was my grandmother) and I must admit I did not appreciate her fully until she passed away.

However, while I still value and appreciate the teaching of the bible especially the 2nd Testament, I no longer consider myself a Christian as define by organized religion. I do not really think I am an Atheist or Agnostic either, in fact I believe I can be categorize as a â??Christian Humanistâ?? with a greater leaning towards the latter wordâ?¦â?¦

This does not mean that I cannot be a friend with a person of deep religious value but please respect my somewhat unconventional belief as I respect yours.

In the whole scheme of things, I am just a simple man who wants to enjoy and revel on the simple pleasures of what life has to offer while appreciating the convenience of modern living.

I've been away from this site for a while, but I figured I'd update my profile. I started working out 5 or 6 months ago, and I just recently hit my "Lost 40 pounds" mark. So the more recent pictures on my profile are the skinnier ones =) I've been on a bit of a self improvement kick lately. I bought a keyboard to try to relearn what I used to know about playing the piano (it's been a while), and so far I just enjoy messing around with chords or transcribing stuff I know on the guitar over. I also like to sing, and I've been told that I have a decent singing voice. I usually end up doing most of the singing when my friends get together and play Rock Band.

One might call me a bit of a nerd or a geek, but to each his own, and I know what I enjoy. I'm just hoping to find someone else that is interested in math and science and enjoys discovering how things work, someone that can get over the stigma of anime and otaku, and enjoy a good Miyazaki movie for what it is, someone who likes to just get in the car and wander aimlessly in search of a place to eat they've never been before.
